Twitter doesn’t teach RESPECT!!!
Pat D____’s husband of 44 years died suddenly Monday hours after collapsing at home, last night she posted the news on Twitter.
OUR family knew her family for over seventy years…my nephew and niece’s mother is her younger sister, and Pat was the best friend of their grandmother they never met because she died of cancer, like their father, in her early forties. So of course Pat and her late-husband, Peter, treated the two knuckleheads probably better than their own, and upon hearing the news what did they do
They both liked her “status”
Tonight is the Giants against the Cowgirls in the NFL season opener–a high holiday in MY church–then Bill Clinton at the DNC…that is akin to being dragged to a Monkees show and Hendrix opens for them
But out of respect i’ll have to watch both of those events online later…and even if i was still living in the antiquated age Obama alluded to–rabbit ears on the B/W tv with Paul Ryan’s Zeppelin records on the stereo–i’d STILL be forsaking those ME pursuits out of RESPECT for a good man i’ve known since i was a boy
Rest in peace Peter Lynch…
He hath awakened from the dream of life-
‘Tis we, who, lost in the stormy visions keep
With phantoms an unprofitable strife,
And in mad trance strike with our spirit’s knife
Invulnerable nothings.-We decay
Like corpses in a charnel; fear and grief
Convulse us and consume us day by day,
And cold hopes swarm like worms within our living clay
