Billionaire Mayor Bloomberg, who never travels without his iPad and security detail, sees the skyrocketing theft of iPhones from ordinary New Yorkers as no big deal.
At a press conference last week, Bloomberg joked about the 44 percent uptick in the snatching of high-end electronics. “If the worst problem we have is iPhone stealing . . .’’ he said with a roll of his eyes, before laughing in the direction of Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.
“Ray, you’d better get on this iPhone thing right away. This is serious!’’
He also blamed crime victims, saying they’re treating their phones “cavalierly.’’
