Charlie Murphy's wife dies

Just heard about THIS on Howard Stern

Even though Stern just mentioned it in passing, for those of us who heard Charlie Murphy on the Stern show, it was a touching moment when Charlie told of how cancer basically saved his marriage--Charlie was out there like Tiger Woods, and then he discovered that his wife had cancer--and he turned over a new leaf.

The MTV article tells you nothing about the life of Tisha Taylor Murphy...had to go here to find out that she was 44-years-old, and that she's been battling cancer for two years.

Since my cousin, who was more like a brother to me, died of cancer seven years and two days ago, i know firsthand how that plays on a family. The sting passes with time, but the empty spot in the hearts and minds of those closest to the victim never disappears.....

Somebody told me that i'm like Detective John Munch as they related a Law & Order episode to me---Munch requested his FOIA file and it was only a single page

Ten years ago when i took the census test...also in an economic downturn, got a letter from the census bureau that in effect said: You passed the test, and BTW, the FBI wants your fingerprints [and YOU gotta pay THEM $75 for the privilege]

Since we handle bio-hazardous materials at work, according to the OSHA "training" we got you're supposed to report it to your supervisor, and then there's supposed to be some kind of healthcare follow-up...right.....

Of course i could call NY State's Department of Labor...

So i mistakenly touched my face after handling specimens, we aren't provided gloves as per OSHA rules, and it got infected and got no health insurance therefore no healthcare so i gotta hope the shit ain't Über-serious and heals naturally, or i gotta hope it's near fatal so that i can make some money

Tuesday night i noticed this block on the Nassau side that was decked out in Christmas lights...then i saw a dead cat on the lawn of the cornerhouse.

Yesterday it's hard raining...and as i'm heading to work i see a humungous raccoon in the street--roadkill--and combined with the cat the night before i'm starting to think: PET SEMETARY

Saw this in the window of a schlocky art gallery on Second Avenue, a place that sells kitschy "art" to yuppie social climbers who read the Arts section of the New York Times and consider themselves Fragonards, Apollinaires and Fénéons since they took Art 102 in college too

Yeah, this painting is a bit schmaltzy...but it's probably one of the greatest painting ever made in the last fifty years...i'm assuming the painter is relatively knew since the painting is in a gallery that caters to the $750-1,200 crowd instead of opening for a million.six at a Christies auction!

The Warhol on the wall is obvious, but who got the Wyeth out the window???

Saw a kid playing somethang like this upstairs at the Union Square station on 14th Street...and the motherfucker was wailing--sounding like a cross between Yes and a Funkadelic bluesman--makes one either want to pack it in or sinlessly cast stones

Of course, if you a player then you'd either despair or practice harder...unless you're me...in which case you go WOW and accept your lot in life as being a half-ass guitarist with excellent vision but not enough time or talent to execute it

i pity the artist that made the above painting though--s/he has the TALENT (and vision) to create somethang as awesome as THAT--but the "critics" and powers that be probably deemed it "derivative," never mind the VISION behind it
