Long Island RACISTS rejoice

  So while the rest of the WORLD is sayinging goodbye to Michael Jackson, this dude reminds us all why Long Island is still pretty much klansland, or Up South as Malcolm would've said.  And of course, he's unrepentant...a congressman with no respect for the law

Lest we forget, the limbaughnistas, to whom Herr King is playing to...have yet to rescind the Fifth Amendment...and i do believe he was sworn in to protect the constitution

So Representative Peter King is a crusader agianst perverts???---how about the pedophile priests in nearby Rockville Center---oh yeah, since it's in the New York Times it's not credible...liberal media bias, right.

And why has Saint Sarah been quiet thus far...she claims that she's quit her job to rebuild the moral backbone of the GOP...[isn't moral backbone an oxymoron when used with GOP???]

McNamara died yesterday...however, there are already plenty of folks in the current government that will do far worse. I believe that the law of Murphy applies to our present form of government.

About Jackson though. Did he write great music? Did he really help many people? Did he inspire greatness in a generation really or was it some fashionable form of religion where he was the golden boy demigod of what people needed for a diversion to their otherwise mundane and unimportant lives? Itzhak Perlman is a greater person than Michael Jackson, yet, you won't hear much about him. Pavrotti was far more significant really. He was the epitomy of self absorbed narcissism. He did not want to grow up. Tragic childhood and all the befuckery aside. Michael Jackson is no George Clinton, who did provide a greater tapestry for so many to follow. Wonder if they will give Parliament Funkadelic the props they deserve at the end of their demise. Michael Jackson was a sacrificial lamb. He was messianic but the prophecy he preached was actually twisted, vulgar and hurt. That is teaching the wound. Really, he was a big scab on society and not much more than a good performer and dancer who had his time, albeit, too much.

I did enjoy Michael Jackson, when he was Michael Jackson. That dude died around 1991 officially and what was left was the twisted little shithead that could not overcome his demons. I do believe he was a pedophile. I do believe he was addicted to pain killers. I do believe that he has serious mental illnesses that no one gave a shit about for the longest time because they were making too much money off his ass in the heyday and he was the golden boy of the hour. He is a tragedy. He is a sad witness to what extreme drive imposed upon a child can do to the man that child becomes. He is a victim of some fucked up child abuse himself(no doubt). He did overcome a great deal. He was a singer, a performer and a dancer. That is really about it. He was overglorified. Overpraised and was given the title of the King of Pop in reverence to Elvis Presley. Elvis for that matter was another, meschiach du jour, that saved people from their own ineptitude and mundaity. In the end, Elvis was a pill popping freak who died on his own toilet. Much like the opening of Maggot Brain, either you rise above it or drown in your own shit...how appropriate. Michael Jackson was not Hendrix, Joplin or even a Stevie Ray Vaughn in caliber, he was a lesser god who did play to the world's LCD(lowest common denominator). To quote another George Clinton obvious but neglected bit of wiz-dom. What you been growing is what you been sowing..." Tell me truthfully that Michael Jackson was not sowing he seeds of scab woundedness into the world's mind. I have tasted the maggots in the mind of the world, I was not offended but I know, there are some foul parts to it.

When Mick Jagger dies, you are going to see the end of a great and powerful drive go out. That is an amazing singer, performer, actor and dancer. Mick Jagger is really his own category. He is a mix of many things. Of the likes, Bowie, McCartney, Clapton, Jimmy Reed and Howlin Wolf have their own sectors under a sub-category. Michael Jackson was no Mick Jagger.

More power to the people, more power to the pussy! That is the real vaginal type pussy and not the pink weak minded wound that Michael Jackson was. He can finally rest in peace after having died nearly twenty years ago.

I’ve been watching Michael Jackson coverage nonstop since his death and I wasn’t even a fan, but something is really touching me about him.  I even said a prayer for him today.    On the other side, I’m glad that Pete King said that because there are questions about Michael’s life.  I’m sympathetic to Michael’s problems, but I can’t ignore his “alleged” dark side.  I don’t agree with Pete King, but I’m glad that there are people like Pete King who bring me back to earth.  (There are also a lot of people who are not Michael Jackson fans and are irritated over the non stop coverage.  Pete spoke out to represent them (and because he was politically grandstanding.)   But, back to the Memorial, I just turned it on to see a clip of his daughter.  My heart breaks for his children.

@JOUKKO -

Mick Jagger's passing will probably be comparable to that of McNarma's...another footnote to the Sixties

Michael Jackson, on the other hand, is not only BIGGER than Elvis, The Beatles AND Hendrix...but he's almost on par with Malcolm X & MLK!!!

Influence wise, MJ opened up MTV to rap and Whitney Houstonites...and many have argued that it's because of HIM that Obama was able to get into the white House.

@M/M -

As i stated above...Pete King represents some of the most pederastic parishes in New York...NOW he finds a voice [against someone who only had TWO allegations against him none of which been proved]

Hey, I’m watching a major network cover Michael Jackson and they keep throwing in “subtle zingers”.  One reporter pointed out that Stevie Wonder was a child star with “hit after hit” who “engaged the world (ahem) differently” than Michael Jackson did.   I’m not taking anything against Michael because he’s gotten me away from AM talk radio and back into music, but I agree with many of Joukko’s points and want to make certain that I don’t get drunk on the MJ kool-aid.

Mick Jagger is huge.

ER, you're right that MJ WAS acquitted, but he also seemed to attract the those type of lawsuits so I do have a question mark about him in the back of my mind.  What really bothers me is, if the allegations are true, how the heck did these kids meet him?  It is hard enough for regular people to meet him, let alone a little kid.  Why would parents put their kids in that position?

Most men that I listen to on AM radio seem to be threatened by MJ.

Some of Michael's songs are really beautiful.  He blends different musical styles and doesn't seem to be afraid to drag spirituality into his music.  I STOPPED to watch the Harlem Gospel Choir perform this song this morning.  Jennifer Hudson did a great job this afternoon.

Michael's daughter, Paris, is a real fighter.  Al Sharkton just said that "there is nothing strange about Michael.  What is strange is what Michael had to deal with."  She jumped to her feet and clapped and everyone followed.

MJ was acquitted. I've avoided most of the coverage, and my level of fanhood hasn't changed at all. My favorite conservative friend thinks that he probably did some inappropriate things with children but guesses that because of his own fucked up upbringing he probably had no idea it was wrong. I wasn't there and don't know what happened, but I like to believe that he had no ill intentions. ...Also, that Village Voice article brings up Toni Morrison... yet another reason for you to read her!

Dick Gregory made a really interesting point on Imus today.  He said that they gave Michael some drug to keep his voice high.  Think that might contribute to a psychological and physical problem?    What was the article in the Village Voice?  Was it about Michael?  What was the name?   I admit that I am one of those people who is obsessed with the coverage.  I’ve been watching the news and all the politicians for 2 years and I feel THAT  has been a royal waste of time.

For ME to say Michael is bigger than Jagger is stupendous...i was into the Stones [AND Dylan] even when they were out of style Dylan's death will be interesting, because lawd knows HE inspired damn near everybody, whether they knew it or not.

Just heard the Imus crew say MJ wasn't the first Black on MTV, Joan Armatrading and somebody else was. THAT shows how far the kkkonservative Reich will go to discredit Jackson. Joan Armatrading is not exactly what you'd call black music...hell, i remember calling up WBLS to request a Bob Marley song and the DJ said, and i QUOTE---We don't play that shit...Call up one of them white stations

Until "Flashlight," Funkadelic wasn't BLACK music

Peter King's comments is indicative of that Up South racism Malcolm X warned us about, and where's the crusade against the Catholic church...which HAS a rich history of pedophilia

ER, Bernard was totally fair in his coverage of Michael Jackson the past two days and expressed both points of views.  There have been other people who have been really unfair like: http://www.nypost.com/seven/07082009/news/columnists/excess_rites_all_wrong_for_sicko_freak__178124.htm   The comment you refer to was made by an older person who doesn’t understand Michael Jackson or his music.  That person pointed out that there were other performers who broke race barriers and specifically mentioned Sammy Davis Jr.  I thought that was a legitimate point.  Should other talented performers who didn’t have the Michael Jackson, Inc. marketing machine behind them be overshadowed?   I didn’t like the Jackson 5 because I considered them “bubblegum” pop, and preferred the music of other Motown groups like the Supremes and Smokey Robinson.  Quincy Jones made a similar point in a recent article where he talks about teaching Michael Jackson to broaden his musical range on Thriller.    Frankly, I haven’t looked at Michael Jackson in 20 years because I outgrew him, and because he seemed so strange on television.  I’m listening to the media stories, but  the person I’m really listening to is  Michael Jackson’s  through his music.  The other people who are telling the story are his children.  As one therapist pointed out, “he must be have been a good father to produce such “neat” children”.   That’s true.  When you strip off the mask, Paris “wowed” everyone.

Al Sharton said MJ paved the way for Obama because millions of white kids grewing up watching him Michael Jackson on television, so they were comfortable voting for a black guy when they grew up.

Bernard just mentioned him:

They just repeated that comment and said "it is opinion, generational and (I think) taste.

What about Madonna?  Should she be considered the Queen of pop because she can sing and dance and has a long string of hits?  I own some of her music, but I don't consider her in the same league as the Stones.

Continuing on black musical history, Diana Ross turned me on to this singer.   Born before my time with no introduction to me by Motown and MTV and I still think SHE is great!
