It was Twitter yes the often derided Twitter that has allowed the protesters in Iran to communicate both within Iran and with the outside world when the Iranian government tried to cut communication. I stayed up until 3:00am (Pac Time) reading comments on FARK incoming with news from people that were following many Iranian tweets live from the events.

I hope that when the dinosaurs die out they rename themselves "Persia" again ditto for "Burma". As a kid, I knew that big landmass was "Russia", I guess because I frequently heard the term "Russian", so I on some level as a kid rejected the name "Soviet Union" til I was old enough to understand that it was a Soviet Union, and now they (since 1991)have been restored to Russia. If for no other reason than my stepsister had this adorable white longfurred Persian kittycat that I could show off to my friends as I threw the ping pong ball on the ping pong table and the cat jumped on the table and chased it like a mouse (friends all had dogs or no pet so they were impressed at the cat's athleticism and predatory instincts).
